Afterschool Academy

The RACC Afterschool Academy is designed to reverse the effects of learning loss while enhancing the academic growth of K-8 students. Through high-quality, non-traditional tutoring and innovative enrichment activities, we provide students with engaging learning experiences that foster both academic success and personal development.

Our afterschool programs are hosted in partnership with local schools throughout Mecklenburg County and beyond, ensuring that students have access to enriching academic support and engaging learning experiences within their communities.

Health & Wellness Programs

We are dedicated to fostering the health and wellness of the children we serve. Our Health & Wellness Program empowers kids and teens to develop lifelong healthy habits through fun activities, interactive games, and engaging lessons that promote overall well-being.

From nutrition and physical activity to emotional well-being and social skills, this program equips youth with the tools they need to feel their best every day. Whether they’re looking to build strength, boost confidence, or gain a better understanding of healthy living, we provide the guidance and support to help them thrive!

Smart Choices & Strong Bodies Series

The program empowers students in grades K-2 to make smart choices about their wellness, how they move their bodies, and how they care for their mental and emotional well-being. By fostering confidence, resilience, and a positive approach to health, Smart Choices, Strong Bodies equips students with the knowledge and skills to lead active, balanced, and healthy lives.

Café RACC

Café RACC, our culinary club, focuses on nutritional education, promotes healthy eating habits, and addresses food insecurity for youth. Students grades K-8 learn about healthy cooking and eating.

Young Leaders Program

Our Young Leaders Program equips teens with the skills and experiences needed to succeed in college, careers, and beyond. Through mentorship, hands-on workshops, and real-world career exploration, participants develop essential leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Whether they are exploring college opportunities, preparing for the workforce, or building confidence as future leaders, the Young Leaders Program provides the guidance and resources to help teens take charge of their futures with clarity and purpose.

Seasonal Camps

Our seasonal camps provide supervised, action-packed, and engaging out-of-school programs during summer, winter, and spring breaks, as well as select weekends and teacher workdays. Designed for kids ages 5-14, these camps offer a safe and fun environment where participants can enhance academics, develop new skills, build self-esteem, and form lasting friendships.

For older youth, we offer leadership opportunities through our Counselors-in-Training (ages 15-17) and Counselor (ages 18+) programs.

Summer Camp: Camp Can Be

Camp Can Be is a 7-week-long summer camp designed to provide an enriching and engaging experience for kids through academics, field trips, games, crafts, and character development activities.

Each week, campers will explore exciting themes based on our core focus areas: S.T.R.E.A.M+ (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Math, and critical life lessons). With a balance of hands-on learning and fun-filled activities, Camp Can Be encourages curiosity, creativity, and personal growth in a safe and supportive environment.

Themed Camps

Themed camps provide a fun and themed experience, perfect for weekends and teacher workdays! Each session offers a snapshot of our traditional camp programs, featuring engaging academics, interactive games, creative crafts, and character-building activities.

Designed around our core S.T.R.E.A.M+ focus areas (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Math, and essential life skills), these camps take place on select Saturday mornings, afternoons, and teacher workdays, giving youth a great way to explore, learn, and grow in a dynamic and supportive environment.
